A Sneak Peek Into My Summer Collection

The choices for my new summer collection are in my opinion Bold yet Flirty! While selecting pieces to mix and match my inspiration was "Summer Casual Evening Wear". I'm thinking chic linen blazers in beautiful bold colors, strapless ruffled drawstring rompers, dusty rose chiffon sleeveless vintage tops, jeans and crisp white tank tops...just to name a few! As usual, I value all of my hard working clients and strive to give them the best use out of my jewelry, so I always keep in mind to select pieces that are versitile enough to go from day to evening with no effort at all!

I can't wait to debut more of my new pieces as the summer vastly approaches

The First "Mom's Night Out Event" Made History!

Chicks Rock!
Being part of the first Mom's Night Out Event was not only an honor, but I also get to claim the bragging rights that come with being part of such an epic event! As a vendor, I've attended  dozens of functions, from flea markets to fundraisers, yet this one was the only event that ran so smoothly from start to finish. The ladies behind this operation obviously are no strangers to giving busy moms exactly what they needed, an evening away from their kids and a memorable kick-ass party that left everyone asking for more, including myself!

Something For Everyone!
As  anticipated, a large array of high end vendors were elegantly setup  throughout the venue eagerly awaiting to provide their exclusive services to all the Mom's who came out! As the Mom's sipped on their Sangria and snacked on their yummy hors d'oeuvres, they were also given the option to shop, win fantastic prizes and dance the night away! The festivities planned for this event were sophisticated, well thought out and  amazingly affordable, which allowed everyone who attended the freedom to indulge on all their favorite vendors that evening without breaking the bank!

Highlights Of The Event
In recognition of all their hard work, Assembly Women Naomi Rivera
issued citations to the three masterminds behind this event.Geanine Petraglia of Macaroni Kid East Bronx, Rebecca Borrero & Christine Cespedes from Mommies Mingle. And Just when you thought the evening could not get any better, Ms. Rivera also  declared May 10th as "National Mom's Night Out" a much needed  holiday here in the Bronx!

What Mattered To Me The Most
I'm super excited to share with everyone that my brand Justbecca's Vintage Jewelry did very well at this event and I was practically sold out towards the end of the night! However, none of this would have been possible if it weren't for Geanine Petraglia, Rebecca Borrerro and Christine Cepedes. These down-to earth chicks had a vision and made it happen! Again, thank you ladies for your friendship and your loyalty! I had a blast and will be the first to sign up for next years event!

"Set The Trend" With My New Silk Clutch Bags

 Look The Part
I wanted to add clutch bags to my Justbecca's Vintage Brand, but I wasn't sure on which type? What I did know, was that I wanted the clutches to have a vintage look and feel to them. I also wanted them to be super sophisticated, with the option of giving an outfit a casual polished look! After a few weeks of research, I decided on these fantastic silk clutch bags! Not only are they amazingly affordable, but you won't find anything close to this style in ANY shops or departments stores! My main mission and promise to my clients is to make sure they look and feel like "One In A Million" when they shop with me! As I always mention every chance I get, it's great to keep up on trends, but one should always find a way to add their own personal style to play up their signature look. What better way than to accessorize with my exclusive pieces and newly added clutch bags!

People En Espanol "Mas Que Belleza" Event 2012

Sisterhood
When I was asked to attend this years People En Espanol's "Mas Que Belleza" event as a representative for the SoLatina Organization, I was floored! Being part of such an epic event was not only an honor, but truly inspiring! This event not only celebrates the beauty of  Latina Women, but also the mark they are making on the world. It felt so amazing to be surrounded by Latinas like myself who all share the same vision. The energy in the room was so empowering, I knew this was an event like no other!

Sponsors
Upon my arrival, I was greeted with a huge smile and a beautiful gift bag containing goodies from CoverGirl, People En Espanol, and Gillette Venus (sponsors of the event). Each sponsor had a beauty station set up for an afternoon of beauty makeovers, massages, and one-on-one beauty and hair consultations. The ladies were super thrilled as they waited patiently to get beautified! Once the ladies were done with their make overs, off they went to enjoy other festivities such as salsa lessons (sponsored by Pantene), photo shoots in the CoverGirl photo booth, an endless selection of tasty Latin inspired hors d'oeuvres and beverages!

A Star Studded Event
The stunningly beautiful Birmania Rios, TV Personality for Despierta America's Morning Show  hosted the entire event. She kicked things off by introducing  Armando Correa, Editor for People En Espanol  who welcomed us with open arms and encouraged us to participate in the all day festivities scheduled for each intermission which included raffles and free celebrity beauty consultations just to name a few!

The first keynote speaker was the amazingly talented Maria Marin, International Motivational Speaker, Best Selling Author and Columnist for People En Espanol. "Find Your Voice" was the topic of her life changing speech. She shared with us her personal life struggles such as losing her mother at the age of nine, and being diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes at the age of 15. Her advice to all Latinas seeking success was to "Always feel ready and motivated". "Maintain a clear vision, have faith and believe in yourself"!  Inspirational words to live by!

Next to the podium, was the much anticipated fashionista, Kika Rocha, Director Of People En Espanol's Beauty and fashion Department. Her presentation on "How to Dress For Your Body Type" focused on choosing the best fitting clothes to compliment your figure. She presented a mini fashion show using models with four different body types and also informed us where to purchase the clothes and shoes that the models were wearing!

The Closing Speaker for the evening was, Celebrity Trainer/Nutrtionist, Workout Clothing Designer and People En Espanol Columnist, Jose Fernandez.  The ladies were not shy to share their excitement during his introduction! Jose Fernandez spoke about the "Facts and Myths of Health And Fitness'. He also covered over seven most common misconceptions of weight loss, diet, exercise and daily vitamin intake. Jose has also added "Author" to his long list of achievements, so be on the lookout for the release of his health & fitness book by the end of this year.

Raffles & Giveaways
This event had tons of giveaways but my personal favorite was a free beauty consultation by Pantene Hair Stylist, Carlos Vera. Unfortunately, I did not win the one-on-one beauty consultation with him, but I did get to watch him closely to see if I could pick up any pointers!

All Good Things Must Come To An End
As the event came to a close, I felt more empowered than ever to stay focused on my goals! I made a commitment to myself that day, to be the best ME I can be. To have a positive vision on how each day will turn out! Not only did this event make me feel so proud to be a Latina, but I also made a new friend!

Frida Kahlo "The Icon" Of Her Generation

How She Inspires Me
As an artist, she was never ashamed of sharing her own personal pain and experiences through her paintings. Her ability to express herself through her work and her fashion was highly commendable for a women living during that era. Her jewelry choices (in photos dating as far back as 1929) were clearly worn to make a statement!

A Sneak Peak Into My Own Personal Jewelry Collection
Frida's bold yet sophisticated style has always had an influence on the types of jewelry pieces I've purchased/worn throughout the years (way before the launch of Justbecca's Vintage Jewelry).

Future Collections
As I continue to be inspired by Frida's legacy, I will always find a way to add her bold yet one-of a-kind styles to my collections for many years to come!

Stepping out of your "Comfort Zone"

Boost Your Confidence
I can't tell you how many women have told me that they don't like to accessorize or how accessorizing is just not for them. I say give it a try before you shoot it down. Choosing the right  pieces will not only enhance your look but also your confidence. Especially busy moms (like myself) who honestly don't get enough credit for all that they do taking care of their families. Just because we are running around like chickens with our heads cut off doesn't mean we can't look cute while doing it!

Dare To Wear
Weather your style is classic, edgy or conservative, every women should make a statement when it comes to their jewelry. Don't be afraid to step outside your comfort zone from time to time. You'll be amazed how magnificent you'll feel! As I've mentioned before in my previous blog, develop your own style and select pieces that work with your personality and signature look.

4 Statement Pieces Every Women Should Own

Cocktail Ring
A cocktail ring should be worn on either index finger or if it's a fairly large one,
on the middle finger to balance it out! Perfect for dressing up a pair of jeans or showing off that freshly done manicure!

Statement Earrings
The right statement earrings will draw focus directly to your face. Keep in mind, you should never wear earrings that are too heavy, and make your earlobes sag! Choose a pair that can easily take your look from day to night with no effort at all.

Statement Necklace
I love the feminine paring of pearl and ribbon on this necklace
(made by me, lol). The mixture of the two gives this statement piece a Victorian feel.

Chunky Cuff or Clasp Bracelet
A statement bracelet can bring out the fashionista in any of us! Bracelets are the go-to piece if you want to express your edgy side! The right bracelet will allow you to make a bold statement without seeming too over-the-top!

Always Give Your Look A Refined Edge!

My Jewelry Picks This Week

My event last Friday at North Bronx Central Hospital went surprisingly well due to the fact that it was a holiday! This was only my fifth visit as a vendor at this location, but I'm happy to share that I have developed a small following!

As I sat behind my table, I couldn't help but notice my surroundings. Most of my clients that day were already wearing my pieces, down to the hospital security guard which by the way made my day when she told me how many compliments she received wearing my jewelry.

The pieces I selected for this event were sleek yet edgy with a few hints of color to celebrate Spring. Perfect to add glam to any outfit day or evening!
